About Us :: Committees

Policies

The following policies were passed by the Board of Directors August 16, 1998:

  • Committee should be composed of a representation from each of the 5 regions. The 5 named Committee members shall alone be the voting members. Anybody may attend the Committee Meetings who has an interest if attending incurs no cost for the CNMHC.

  • Program Committees are composed of members at large as well as Board Members, modeled after the PEPP, which has 3 Board members and 2 members at large, and encourage Board sub-committees/work groups to include members at large.

  • Board Members must serve on at least 2 Committees, and no more than 3. This is exclusive of the Executive Board and the Conflict Resolution Board on which a Board Member serves as Chair.

  • At the annual meeting in which Board Officers are elected, Board Members shall sign up for the Committees on which they want to serve. (The newly appointed Board Members will be called for their choice of Committee.) The sign-up list will be referred to the Committee Committee to resolve any questions about membership on Committees with final selection criteria being ethnic representation and experience.

  • The Cultural Competency Committee should be reduced from 10 members to 5, because of the cost of teleconferencing, as well as bringing it in to agreement with the other Project Committees.

  • The ByLaw Committee be renamed the Governance Committee, to include Nominating Committee, ByLaws, Committee Committee and Policy and Procedure.

Fundraising will be included in Finance/Budget Committee.

The President shall serve as a non-voting ex-officio member on all Committees. This means he/she has the option of attending any Committee.

Committee Members must attend 75% of the Committees on which they have agreed to serve. If not, they will be removed from the Committee.

Committee teleconferences will be at daytime if possible and the Committee Members will set the exact time.
